About Us
PIPA Broward is a non-profit, non-partisan, and non-governmental organization that emerged following the footsteps of PIPA Ada Merritt, an institution founded in 2009 by parents of students with the goal of supporting Portuguese language education.
Understanding the context in which, once outside their country of origin, third-culture children need initiatives that preserve and value their roots is essential to developing activities and creating interactions that strengthen community cohesion and representation.
PIPA Broward’s mission is to bring together the entire Brazilian community, as well as other Portuguese-speaking residents of Broward County, by promoting and supporting schools and educators interested in spreading bilingualism and Brazilian culture through projects and events implemented in schools and other community spaces.
